Guy Style... by Pam

It's time to embrace our masculine creativity.

This month we hope to inspire and be inspired on projects catering to the Men. This doesn't mean it has to be grungy or anything. Just show us what you have in mind for the guys in your life.

Hi it is Pam today sharing with you my "Guy Style" for the Challenge! First, my guys are all a bit on the grungy side, lol. They love working in the yard, messing with cars and tools, hiking, fishing and anything outdoors. So my "Guy Style"  first of all means a salute to all the men in my life. I couldn't help but to create a Dad's  Day Card since it is in June, plus it gives me a chance to play with Emerald Creek's Seth Baked Texture and some a the Vintage Timepiece Stamp.

The Baked Texture Vintage Beeswax is amazing....it gives such added depth to the already rich Baked Texture Embossing Powder.

Hi everyone,
I was so excited when I saw the challenge for this month. I love Emerald Creek's newest embossing powders and Rocky Road is no exception. I wanted to create something with it for one of my guys and I did. Check out my YouTube video and blog for more on how this was made.

Hello everyone! Stephanie here to share my Guy Style project for the blog challenge for the month of May. Male themed projects are always a challenge for me. I did know I wanted to use the Baked Texture embossing powders for this one though! I think Patina Oxide and Chunky Rust were made for each other!! With the Baked Texture powders as my inspiration I dug through some of my vintage ephemera and found some nautical themed pieces: vintage napkin, old birthday postcard from 1913 and random Tim Holtz ephemera. I used the Seth Apter Frameups 1 stamp and cut the middle out to create a porthole. The "porthole" was then covered in Chunky Rust. I added Patina oxide to give it a true metal porthole feel. This piece was used to frame the male image. I layered several pieces of ephemera on the old postcard. I inked the edges of the various pieces with embossing ink and added a few layers of Baked Texture Ancient Amber. To complete the card I coated Emerald Creek Mini Camera Charm in Ancient Amber embossing powder  so it would match my card. I used a piece of fiber to attach the camera to an Emerald Creek Antique Silver Circle Dot Brad that I had coated in Charred Gold embossing powder. I absolutely love how well the metal charms and brads can be covered with embossing powder to perfectly match your projects!

Check out my YouTube to see the process video!

Close up of all the yummy texture!
Look at how much the Patina Oxide and Chunky Rust looks like REAL rusted metal!
Emerald Creek Embossing Powder awesomeness!

To me "Guy Style"  first of all means a metal and grunge look, so this was the perfect occasion to create a mixed media tag using some of Emerald Creek's amazing embossing powders like Seth Apter's Baked Texture and some of my all time favourites like Hammered Metal or Burnt Copper Leaves.

I even found that Vintage Beeswax can be used to beautifully customize chipboard and ephemera to make them match your colour scheme!

On my blog I am sharing a step by step with loads of images, so you can see the tag and its many layers unfold.

Hi friends! Karla back today to share my take on our fabulous Guy Style challenge, running all throughout May! As soon as I saw this sweet little vintage outhouse stamp - Out The Back Door, I knew I wanted to use it for this challenge ;) I combined the Emerald Creek stamp and embossing powders with the Wild Whisper No Place Like Home collection for a masculine card.  The stamp is embossed with the new Baked Texture Patina Oxide Embossing Powder - I really love how you can emboss with this as well as alter your embellishments like I did with the button and cork stars. And, can I tell you how much I love the Baked Texture Chunky Rust powder!! What a cool effect - be sure to check out the video below to see how I applied it.

Inside I added some more embossed elements. These powders truly are amazing!!

You can watch the process I used to create this card and see all the details close up video HERE or watch below. You can also check out some closeups on my blog post HERE.

Guy themes challenge me and I assume I'm not the only one. So I tried to go for something more grungy instead of getting stuck on the guy topic. So I started with coloring the backgrounds of my tags in settle colors. The focal point needed to pop a little more. For that I combined two brighter colors and several different Emerald Creek embossing powders (Iridescent Shimmer and Fractured Ice) to make it shine and add some texture.

To accompany the very bright stenciled circle on every tag, I added a couple more, but in the same settle colors as the background. Those were also embellished with Charred Gold and Iridescent Shimmer embossing powders.

At the end I added a sentiment die cut to every tag, also embossed. For that I used Charred Gold, Hammered Metal and Salted Raven to mix it up a little. Now it needed a few ribbons and a little fairy (I know, not really a guy thing...) and I was done.

Here is the how-to video:

Spring has Spring... by Livia

Hello All! Hope everyone had a wonderful April, the snow is finally gone so maybe now we can watch the leaves and flowers bloom! 🖒😉
I have to say that this is my very first time to blog, I'm a little computer illiterate, but I do learn quick, thank goodness! So here we go....
April's theme was flowers so here is my  "Faith" canvas

I love working with stencils, modeling paste and paint, the embossing powers add so much depth and metallic color to the piece, I love working with them, as i was embossing edges of the canvas, all i was thinking was...wow! I can pretty much emboss anything, so the possibility are endless!

Guy Style in the MMMC Rust Challenge! - Kim #24 of 40

Today I have an extra social post because we are working with the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge for their Rust Challenge.

Using the Baked Texture Chunky Rust from Seth Apter, I grabbed the Burnt Copper Leaves for an awesome combo and just loved taking a gold spin with the card.

My Southern Ridge Chipboard frame, Tim Holtz Woodgrain Stencil and Filigree Frame Corner embellishments are going to get all sauced up with these EPs. My favourite ink is the ranger emboss it dabber because its think and gooey and can actually hold all of the chunks to chipboard without it drying in too quickly.

The Emerald Creek Stamps Take 1, treelines from Gone Fishin' and Big Horn Sheep

I love how quick and easy these silver corners became rusted metal embellishments. Literally it took seconds to heat.

Super simple to build. I used my Buttercream cardstock for the base and Arctic White for the stenciled and stamped layers. Gold metallic cardstock from Tim Holtz sanded, brown kraft core, and a variety of distress oxides and distress inks in Vintage photo, Iced Spruce, Fired Brick, Broken China and Emerald Archival Ink.

I used collage medium to adhere the metal frame pieces and foam tape to raise the frame.

Then add any quick saying, I chose my Vertical Word Stamp - Happy Father's Day so I have 1 less to make next month but it could have been anything.
