Leaves of Change... by Livia

Hello everyone, Livia here with this months theme
"Leaves of Change"
Hope you like it! 🙂

Here are my steps
• first I used modeling paste and a brick stencil
Left hand corner
• then I painted my canvas lightly with brown paint leaving
Some white showing
• I used black modeling paste and painted in certain areas
To make it look distressed

Here comes the fun part
• I then embossed using my EC Flowers, leaves and swirls stamp
Around the outer edge with my EC embossing powders
- Burnt Copper Leaves
- Chunky Rust
- Dirty Sand
• I the went on top of that and embossed the very edge with
Onyx Frost
• I then embossed with my small EC leaves stamp in random area
- Patina Oxide
- Burnt Copper Leaves
-Chunky Rust
- Apple Martini
• I stamped 2 feathers and embossed them with
Gold Sparkle
• With my embossing pen I wrote Love Fall and embossed it with
Patina Oxide
• The wooden Dream embellishment was painted with
Black modeling paste and embossed with
-Gold Sparkle
- Burnt Copper
• I then added my embellishments adding the EC key and brad

Hope you like it, I listed the EC products below

Leaves of Change... by Josefine

Josefine

I love Fall. The colors are gorgeous, it's starting to get cold, the wind is bringing great smells... just gorgeous. So it was easy for me to pick a color palette for this card. Also, Pam Bray's new coffee stamps perfectly fit to this season.

I created a watercolor background with a some "sweet" texture and then used embossing powder to color the hot cocoa mug. The best part? The cocoa mug smells like cocoa!

Do you want to see how everything came together? Here is a quick video for you.

Here is a close up of the gorgeous embossing powder.

Leaves of Change... by Karla

Karla

Hi friends! Karla here today with an anniversary card I created for my husband. It was our 13th anniversary last week and since our theme this month is Leaves and Fall Colours, and we had fall colours at our wedding, I figured this was the perfect opportunity to share the card I was making him!

I coloured this cutie - Monte the Racoon stamp by Emerald Creek with alcohol based markers and then added 3 layers of Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture Embossing Powder to create a DIY enamel embellishment. You can check out a separate video where I show how I did that HERE.

I stamped the beautiful Maple Leaf stamp with Glacier White and Thanksgiving Embossing powders over top of a background sponged with Distress Oxide Inks in fall colours and then fussy cut them out. The Glacier White is a lovely, fine detail powder and the Thanksgiving is a gorgeous sparkly powder.

I used the gorgeous new Mountain Range stamp set, which is a layered stamp set that you can use together to create a wonderful shadow effect! This would look great to add a snowy layer to your mountains as well. Be sure to watch the video to show you how I lined up the cling stamps to get such a cool look! I even added a border of that shimmery Thanksgiving powder to the edge of my card base.

Inside, I stamped my sentiment, added a few more sequins and another pretty leaf.

I tucked the leaves all around Monte and added some sequins and a sweet little PineCone Charm to the log he's sitting on. I embossed the 'amazing' sentiment with some awesome Just Java Embossing Powder - that actually smells like coffee! because of course you need coffee on a crisp fall day ;)

Here's a look at the Process Video where you can see just how I created this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We'd love to see what you create with this month's theme using Leaves and Fall Colours, so be sure to check out the details below on how to share with us, and have a fantastic, crafty week friends!

Leaves of Change... by Peg

Peg

Hi everyone,
I am so glad you are here. I hope you are ready for the September challenge. I decided to make a card this month using Emerald Creek embossing powders and charms. I really enjoy using both if these products. They are first rate in my book.
So I embossed the card front and then die cut it into layers.

I also embossed the leaf charms. You can see the whole video process here:

Thanks for visiting. I hope you take the dare!

I am up with my Wrapped Journal and I went a route very different to me. For starters, I didn't make it acetate. I love making clear books and pages.

To start I pulled out a lot of my Paper Artsy paints for Seth Apter and then dug around for stamps, dies and stencils.

and then I stared.......

and stared.......

and stared LOL!

It honestly took me 2 days to start.
I needed a reason, and my reason became Sample Books of all of my Emerald Creek embossing powders. I have 174 colours and counting.

I picked up My splatter die and got started. First I thought i could cut into the mat board and then peel out the image leaving a debossed relief. It DIDN'T work, the mat board is insanely stiff and peeled out uneven and awful.

So I picked my paints, Steel Grey, Green Patina, Glacier Ice and Pea Coat (for Tracy Scott).

I just started drizzling, smooshing, spritzing and brushing.

Then I sprinkled Charred Gold over the paint and let it all dry overnight. (partly because I had to move on to other tasks, and because I didn't want to use a heat tool and melt the powder. The next day I added a watered down white wash of Glacier Ice over most of the project. Once it was dry, I started heating to see what the powder would do. ...AND I LOVE the effect.  The gold started bust through the paint. I could control the areas I as melting so I could also maintain a nice gritty texture too.

I cut a die of the splatter and then burnished Patina Oxide into the sticky sookwang side and spot melted only. I added some of the blue and grey ColorBox Blends (man its hard to not type the 'u' in Colour) and then added and blended to fill in voided areas. and finished it off with some Charred Gold embossing powder.

On the inside I used the same colours but I started with Seth's Story Time Stencil and inked in lines and the words - Parts, Time and Story were my fave pieces.

Quick tip, pouring direct to the inside of the cover and using a makeup sponge and Crackle accents added a nice and fast effect.

Then I had an idea to twist the Wire into the word Classic for the book of basic or 'Classic' colours. I was trying to think how best to do it and then I figured if I picked a font and sized it to the spine, then I could trace over the letters with Wire.

Pick this up from Eileen's Etsy Shop. The Twist assist is simple and easy to attach to the table and makes the tool work on any surface

The folds on the spine were flashing bright white so I grabbed by Deco Art Dynasty Brush and painted, pushed and dabbed ink into the creases.

I also decided to treat the wire letters and edges in Midnight Black EP because it looked too unfinished.

Quick tip - Skip embossing ink, just heat metal objects and dip in the powder. You can continue to heat and drip off the excess stuck to the metal until the detail returns.

Then I wanted to add my Business Card to the face, because this will be one of my samples at shows. I had to treat the edges in Gold on the top and bottom and then inking the 2 sides.
Then I brushed the business card with crackle for a perfect worn glossy finish.

And it still needed something so a couple of filigree corners, lightly painted and couple of Black flowers.

I made my insert pages and then stencilling some dots so I could Stamp over the black to show the effect of the embossing powder. I used the Oriental Flowers stamp and Ranger Emboss It dabber to start embossing over the black.

Not all embossing powder can be known how it will melt by looking at the bottle. See Candy Red and Candy Crimson Red. Candy Red will cover a colour and stay true, Crimson Red blends to the background. This will be a really important tip when it comes to the pearls & stones later.

I added the barcoded labels to the back so now it will be a quick reference order book too!

I added a muslin bag to the inside for some samples and used the Steel Grey paint smeared on my mat and then took letters out of Seth's Journal Jargon Stamps From IO.

A few photos of the project at the end.
