Stephanie

Hi everyone! Stephanie here to share my outdoor themed project with you! I embellished a super cute little bird house with several beautiful Emerald Creek Embossing Powders

I base coated the little wooden house with acrylic paints. While it dried I searched for the perfect shingles for the roof. I tried leaves (they were cute but too delicate) and then came across the perfect lace trim I had in my stash. Next I adhered the trim to the birdhouse and applied some dark brown paint. Finally I embossed the roof with Chic Camo Allure EC embossing powder. It was the perfect mix of green/brown and sparkle!

To complete the project I added Emerald Creek Embossing Powder to the owl, paper flowers, and the sides of the house. The owl has some Ancient Amber Baked Texture around the eye feathers and also on the flower petals. On the wings of the sweet little owl is Salted Raven Enamel.

The sides of the birdhouse have random spots of Verdigris Sparkle Emerald Creek Embossing Powder. I wanted to give the house an aged look...peeled paint of sorts. The colors are gorgeous! Those greens and sparkle 😍

I hope you enjoyed my project this month and don’t forget to join in this months challenge!!!
Until next time... go make something awesome!

The Great Outdoors... by Josefine

Hi everyone and welcome to this month's theme "The Great Outdoors". I was in the mood to make some cards. I haven't created mixed media style cards in a while and felt an urge to do so now. One of my favorite techniques for mixed media cards is to use stencils for texture, so I decided to pick some silhouette stencils and combine them with the Emerald Creek embossing powder.

I created four cards all together with two of each highlighting the same background technique. For the first two cards, I used my brayer to add paint to the paper.

For the 3rd and 4th card I went with my Gel Press.

All of the animals have been stenciled using Versamark ink. For some I used the embossing powder the way it is, for others, I mixed them together, creating my own "blend". You can see the details in my video.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Don't forget to join the challenge with your own outdoor themed project.

Blog Hop Time with Stencil Girl, Seth Apter & Emerald Creek - #28 of 40

*****
Wishing you
Long Life, Good Health and Double Happiness!

With this blog hop there were so many choices from the Stencil Girl Website, I had a tough time selecting my project idea.
But then it hit me when I saw this Stencil

I squeezed in a stamp from Seth's Paper Artsy line and of course I went straight for the EP and used Chinese New Year for the Background over the Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker.

I grabbed the ATC Mixup #2 Mary Beth Shaw's Collection. I had an idea to use the humming bird. I tried pasting the Humming Bird outline but chose to cut it out and make a silhouette on the gold cardstock and emboss it in the Onyx Frost EP.

I embossed the Blossoms on the Red background with Seth's Baked Texture - Patina Oxide.

then I pasted them on the acetate, by blending the Tangerine and Prawn paints into the paste, and using my palette knife blended them into the stencil.

I used the Filigree Flourish from Eclectica #6 and inked the stamp with the ranger Emboss it Dabber and then embossed the Ancient amber over the red.

to emphasise the image I stamped over it with StazOn.

I embossed the edge of one of the mat layers with the Patina Oxide,
then layered up with Tim Holtz Gold Metallic Cardstock and a piece of generic black cardstock.

The last thing was to make the resin flower using the Vanilla Aroma EP. I used my favourite Prima Silicone mold, and heated up the powder in a metal measuring cup and poured it into the mold. In less then 5 minutes it was cool and ready to embellish

I ended up painting it to highlight the details for the photo but it looked awesome translucent too.

Fun Pic. I was camping and pulled up an app to get my thoughts organised. This quick finger sketch on my phone was how I organised my project.
