Unsung Heroes - Pt 2 Kim 15 of 40

We have another page to my Unsung Heroes Journal

As I have been working on this project there was a woman who spoke about family history at church. It kind of sent me on a bit of a different journey and since my family really stand out as unsung heroes, I decided to shift my albums focus to a long term family history project.

I started with the Sizzix's Journal Die and Mat Board by Eileen Hull.

I used a piece of ephemera photography album, crackle & grit pastes, Distress and Oxide inks, Wendy's Cornflower Mica Spray from Ranger Ink, and the blossoms mini stencil from Stampers Anonymous. Add a chipboard frame from Southern Ridge Trading Co. and of course Emerald Creek Charred Gold & the new Cool Lagoon powder.

Onto the pages...

Today I used a map from Altered Pages digital images. Digital images were a new concept to me and after printing and wrecking and re-printing, I found a love for what you can do with a digital image.

I start with my husband's grandparents. They were amazing people and from day one, embraced me into their family. Both have since past and I thought it fitting to re-unite them on this page.

For this page, I tacked a piece of tissue paper to a piece of heavy cardstock, set up my file in the computer and then printed onto the tissue paper.  This technique will only work on a direct feed printer. (Direct feed means the paper goes in one side and feeds out the other, it does not change direction in the printer)

I spray glued my folded cardstock page from the book and then adhered the tissue paper map.

Then I pasted some accents with Seth Apter's Timeless stencil (one of my favourites) I can use all the bits and pieces on so many projects.

Adding a bit of distress ink and spritzing it with some Wendy Vecchi Mica Spray (cornflower) the result was perfectly aged with shimmer of colour.
