The Double Duty Challenge Continues...

Now I know this is a tough challenge,

but I can promise that if you tackle this one, you will naturally grow and be surprised by what you have within your own creative selves.

So far, the design team and players have been beyond inspirational and I am thrilled to be doing the $50.00 gift code for this one. The winner will have truly earned it. [Plus there will be a little something extra for all who give this challenge a try]. Come on the journey and test your skills. Let's kick off round 2 of the inspiration.

Hi everyone! Are you ready for the next challenge on the Emerald Creek Supplies Dare Blog!!! WELL... It is all about Double Duty... I took it to be a literal meaning... SO... I created two cards that I will be able to be used in the future.. LET SEE... WE HAVE... Easter, Mother's Day, Graduations, maybe a birthday... SO YOU SEE... My "double duty" card will fit many up and coming holidays or events.

Double Duty

This is our toughest Challenge EVER! and I am sticking with the theme because I LOVE how it created inspiration. The purpose of this is to help all of us see our products differently. I must confess it initially came to me when looking at a skirt from Jessica's post Red Poppies to Rememberwhere she used the Tiger Lily Stamp as a skirt pattern.

So ponder your work station, crafts, stamps and items and see what how you can create 2 different projects using the same products, take 1 creation and give it 2 purposes, or use 1 product in 2 different ways (ie a stamp as the image or a pattern)

So, to kick us off is Claudia and I am so excited.

What a challenge that was! But challenges are there to be stood up to - so here it is: my double duty project that can be made to either be used as a napkin ring or as a little lantern to be put over a small tea light. Emerald Creek offer a huge lot of gorgeous embellishments to create your own designs with - so these two are just for st…

Splatter some Fun - March Dare pt2

Are we having fun yet?!

So far I have LOVED the creative splatters. You have made this first half of March so exciting, and if you haven't entered yet, or you want some more inspiration, check out these AMAZING pieces from the second half of the Design Team.

Cassandra Splattering?!?... YES, please! There is something very freeing about splattering. You have to let go and let it be. Not to mention that it is fun... well for me anyway. Having taught splattering techniques at various workshop classes, I know that it is a source of stress for some. The trick is to be relaxed and loose of hand and start with less because you can always add more.

For this month's challenge, I created a canvas with splattered glitter emboss powders. I used two different splatter techniques including one that I taught as part of my Emerald Creek CHA 2017 class. Drop by my blog to learn more.

I know I have days when I need to remind myself of the sentiment I put on my dress.  Art helps me re…

Splatter Some Fun! - March Dare Pt 1

So another month of 2017 is here

All of the Creativation and post show orders (Thank You Seth Apter, Huge Hugs)  have shipped as of today. And I am rapidly catching up on blogging and post show project creations.

This month I wanted to have some creative fun and just encourage everyone to let loose and get messy :)

Let's bring on the SPLATTERS! use paint, powders, ink, coffee, tea, pastes or whatever you think you can splatter and join the Design Team for your chance to Win.

When I saw the theme for this month's dare, I was so excited! I couldn't wait to clean off a space on my work table to fling around some paint, ink, water and yes, some embossing powder to get my splattered background. I even splattered my butterfly with that beautiful Onyx Frost embossing powder! I hope you stop by my blog to see how this wall hanging came together.

I love splatter patterns! And I love combining splatter with a bit of bling which seems to be qui…

A Creativation 2017 Find - Guest Designer Josafine

Creativation was an incredible adventure this year.

I am always looking for that take away or that special something. I will breakdown all that happened in the coming posts, but being so busy when I returned, a vortex was created that has sucked time away faster then I could imagine.
But the first of my takeaways was Josafine Fouarge

(aka @holylise on instagram or +HolyLise on google)
Josafine joined in one of our make and takes on the Creativation show floor.  Her passion was ignited in the project and she fell in love with the products. Much to my surprise she inquired about any DT openings and I took a blind gamble and went with a guest post.
Moments like this is why the Creative Arts industry is so wonderful, the unknown talent is limitless. I was thrilled and covered in goosebumps when she submitted a rough project photo.

Rock the Red - PT2

The Red Train rolls on ...

with more Brilliance from the Design Team!

Check out what they have created and then enter your own awesome Red works of Art.

Leading us is Cathy. This is her last post with the Emerald Creek Design Team and although I am thrilled for her new opportunities with other design teams, I am a little sad that she will not be here every month. Cathy will always be part of the Emerald Creek Family and I have been blessed to have had her on my design team for the last 18 months. XXOO

Well this piece is for my Emerald Creek family. For all the inspiration, all the support and a lot of laughs over the last year and a half. One of the best things I have been blessed to be a part of and contribute to.

Hi everyone are you ready to "Rock the Red" Challenge here on the Emerald Creek Supplies Challenge Blog!!! I created a "Love" Card using one of Kelly Klapstein Stamps that Emerald Creek Supplies manufactures along with fabulous embossing…

Rock the Red pt 1

What an amazing January.

I have to admit I am behind in my updates and posts but I am really excited to be moving forward in 2017 and hopefully finding a bit of routine and rhythm. February is going to be packed with lots of love for all that Creativation offered last month and for the wonderful wrap up of 2016 in December, so make sure you follow and don't miss anything.

BUT, in the spirit of moving forward we are going to be highlight all things Red. So bring your A Game and show us how RED inspires you this month.

The idea for this tag popped up in my head when I found this beautiful background that was actually a scrap from a monoprinting technique I had used on another project some weeks ago. I just loved the patterns the paints had created on my paper - and red it was. So I knew I had to use this for a big tag alongside the fab Chinese New Year Emerald Creek embossing powder!

I was so excited to open my box from Emerald Creek this month to find some amazing new stamps and the most beautiful stones along with new-to-me Onyx Frost Embossing Powder. Right away, I knew I wanted to try my hand at an organic abstract canvas. I used texture paste, crackle paste, grit paste and embossing powders to get this rich stone like texture. Adding some background stamping, (using Kim's new shell stamps) and those glimmer-y new stones added even more texture to this abstract canvas.
