Yes, Rocks Can Be Stamped!

For my first of the Anything But Paper Creations,

I decided to do some rock stamping while camping. We are along a river so there is an ample amount of stones and rocks plus I promised my son he could paint rocks.
Le the 2016 Rock Garden begin.

So my first project is super simple.

Find a flat smoothish rock, grab your Stazon or Archival ink, (today I had archival because I was working on Creative Chemistry 101 while camping). Select a stamp or a few and get stamp happy. Please note, red rubber backed on foam will be better due to the uneven nature of a rock.

Kim's Rock using Feather Stamp
Isaac's rocks using Daisy, Be Gone ya, Posey Stamps
Use Alcohol Inks, or similar. you want something that won't react with water. The first day I coloured it with the Distress markers, it looked beautiful and then it rained. Duh, what was I thinking. We will call it holiday brain.

I will be photographing the rock over the summer to show the sun fade and wear. lets see how long this lasts.

Now it's your turn, craft WITHOUT paper and enter the 'Anything but Paper' Dare.

And Isaac's Rocks for a fun twist

  3. Looks like a lot of fun to be had crafting on your camping trip! I hope your image stays for many, many years! I love Isaac's colors! (PS--a note from my daughter; tell him not to sit like that! My daughter would never listen to me, and now she says "why didn't you tell me not to sit like that?" I call it frog sitting, and something I still do--yes, my knees hurt.

This dare is so fun, and I've got 3 projects started. Let's see what get's done! Hugs to you!

    1. Oh Sara I just love you to pieces. He won't listen to me either. I did get him to sit on the step because it just hurt so much to watch.

I can't wait to see what you come up with.

  7. Glad I popped over to see these rocks in action! Holiday brain, happens to the best of us. Haha! Looks like you nailed it with the Stazon ink though. Very curious to see how this fares under the sun and conditions. Isaacs rocks turned out awesome sauce and fun. PS I still sit like that and other weird ways and prefer the ground/floor over a chair. Hehe! Hugz. ~Niki

    1. Awe thanks for coming over here. I'm excited for this weekend! Can wait to see if idea number 2 works. And that's so funny about how you sit. Although I can see how an artist will sit how ever to get the right result from a project.
