Remembering Family

Image
I'm dedicating a second post to My Family of Heroes.
I started with the Eileen Hull Passport Book. All I can say is thank you Eileen. This die is what fully inspired the tribute piece.

Once I knew what I wanted to present I got to work collecting the photos from our family history.

Next I sketched up Grandpas face and got it to a size I thought would work to fit his navy picture into the eye.

then I started covering pages, inking the spine and covering more pages.

There was a hiccup when one of the insert pages broke, but I wasnt starting over so a quick mend and I was back at it.
Then I arranged the photos and cut, tore, crumpled, watered and inked them

Then off to figure out a mirage of embellishments and stick it all together.

Remember the Fallen

Today we celebrate the bravery, selflessness and heroism of all of our soldiers.
This is so important to me. It touches my heart every time I think of what all the men and women who fought for their family and friends were able to overcome and do for each of us.
Because this is so important to me, I felt this should be the first time I lead my team in an inspiring and heartfelt tribute to my family.

Details of My Book will be available once my family has seen it.
Our living veteran, Karon also brings inspired emotion:
"Both Andy and I are ex-Royal Air Force and we wear our Veterans badges and poppies with pride :-) Andy served 18 years and I did 9 years, both in the Royal Air Force.  So proud of that time of my life and made so many life long friends."

Diana pays tribute with a moving piece featuring in Flanders Fields

Cathy, remembers her family with a fantastic collection of charms and poppies

Julia paid homage with a wonderfully emotional painting

Don't forget to take a …

Katelyn Grosart opens up the guest blogging with a fantastic creation! She titled it a sympathy, but I feel with our November Design Team Dare and tribute coming up, we could call it Remembering.

Her beautiful card incorporates Poppies and the sentiment You are in our thoughts
Check out her blog A Creative Journey to see more about his and many other works of art Katelyn has created.
