Make n' Take Tag

The "Twoonie Tag"

So the Tag we made at Paper Pastimes had lots of comments like. .."a great masculine tag"..."the burnt copper leaves powder is fantastic" and my favorite ..."the Clear Matte Powder is sooo Great, I have to have some"

So let's touch on how to make this Simple tag and the New products that were used.

First we start with the Arctic White Cardstock and cut it into and 3" x 8.5" strip , a 2.5" wide x 4.5" rectangle and a 2.25" x 4" rectangle.

Ink the 8.5" piece with clear Versamark or other embossing ink then pour the Burnt Copper Leaves over it and dump off. DO NOT tap. Because this is a chunky powder tapping will remove the large chunks that give the modelling look. Use your heat tool from underneath or from a few inches away. Once the powder begins to melt you may move the tool closer for quicker melting (when heating from above). One done, set aside.

.

Now take the 2.5" wide piece ink all of the edges with the clear versa mark again sprinkle with black embossing powder. Use the heat tool to set/melt the embossing powder. Set aside.

Clear Matte Powder

Grab the 2.25" piece and yes the clear versamark with your favorite stamp. Ink it, stamp it in the middle and grab your clear matte embossing powder (clear gloss also works). Sprinkle it over the image. Tap or flick the back to get the excess powder off otherwise you will lose any detail. Use the heat tool and melt again. If you are using the clear matte, DO NOT over heat. It changes the properties and becomes glossy. As soon as the matte begins to melt move the heat tool around the image to melt it into a full finish.

All Inked up

Ink the entire piece of paper with the image using your favorite colours. This was Ground Espresso. Then a spritzed black soot spray stain in 3 spots and wiped the image clean using a paper towel. Then I re-inked over the black with the Ground Espresso one more time to create a warm, rich, burnt wood look.

Now tape it all together and use a poking tool to create a hole for the Red Jewel Brad and attach the brad. Now make a hole for a doubled brown twine tie.

2 Strings of Hemp Twine

Antique Silver and Red Brad

Your all done. At a sentiment and attach it to a card it make it a book mark. Whatever you think of.
