You don't know me yet? What?!

It was pointed out to me that I have talked about my team, my business, sometimes my kids and my dog, (the Late Eugene). But I haven't actually introduced myself.

So here it goes...

I am Kim Evans, I grew up to the age of 16 on the West Coast (the entire lower mainland) with my parents and younger brother & sister. It was awesome! Then a down turned job market had us move to Calgary, AB.

Since I have been in Calgary, I met my husband Duncan in high school, married in 2000 and now
have 2 beautiful children, Isaac & Vienna.

I graduated from "the Comp" in Okotoks in 1995 and began working management and merchandising in the retail industry. I decided on a change and went to SAIT to get an estimating certificate in construction, while working for local residential and commercial companies.  Since then, I have owned and sold a siding company and started Emerald Creek Construction & Consulting. This changed to Emerald Creek Ventures Inc and Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, when a deal was struck between me and my uncle for rights to manufacture my uncles rubber stamps. I have been using stamps since I was a wee child, thanks to the creativity and inspiration of My Aunt Sharron & Uncle Gerry Beazely (the former creators & owner of the Great Canadian Stamp Company and GCS Art Stamps), so taking this on seemed like the natural thing to do.

When I am not working at the stamp company and moonlighting as an estimator and a mom (which is all the time), I love to make cards and do crafts. I spend as much time camping in the summer as I can, and now that my children are a little older, I hope to resume golf and fishing on a regular basis too. (HAHA)

I love having fun, meeting new people and hearing what people are up to. So feel free to join me on this epic journey and to comment, learn and teach.

Let's craft together!
