A Masculine Retirement Card

Do you ever wonder what to do for a guys retirement card?

Here are a couple of simple ideas to get you going.

First grab anything clock, or date related. I picked the Clockwork stencil by Tim Holtz, Texture Paste by Ranger, a clock brad from Emerald Creek and a washi tape from the Tim Holtz ideology collection

"Symphony" with the definition of journey, and I had these random metal stickers I picked up from the dollar store, but the package is gone so I can't quote the company. same with the fine wire used for the fishing line.

Second, grab the guys favorite thing. In this particular case fishing, golf & guitars would all have made a suitable stamp. I chose the Trout

Now for colours.

I used the Tarnished Brass, Brushed Pewter, Antiqued Bronze, Distress Spray Stains by Tim Holtz and sprayed , Black Soot stamp pad for the fish and the old paper stamp pad for distress around the fish. Festive Berries, Iced Spruce, Gathered Twigs and my water brush for the fish.

Rough up the edge for a more rugged masculine look and glue tape it together and pop dot up your stamped image for a simple 3D effect.

Smile, this is fun!

    1. Thanks Karon. If you use the Dina palette knife it's really soft and flexible and allows for the uneven texture without any effort.
