It's nearly Christmas

Well I hope everyone is feeling the Christmas spirit right now.

I know so many of you in Canada have been suffering from the slumping economy. Many may be stressing about the holidays but please do not fall into sadness.

The season is really about feeling good, serving others, taking time for ones self and their loved ones.

In order to inspire one more level of craftiness and joy, I asked Pam Bray, winner of an Emerald Creek Dare, to Guest Post a token of creativity, love and joy.

Check out what Pam has created to inspire and uplift!

And in the spirit of giving, we are creating this added opportunity to win an Emerald creek prize pack to ship after the reveal  at CHA. All you have to do is post a message of positive encouragement, or a non-monetary gift idea to help those struggling at this time of year to feel the peace, love and and harmony the season should bring.

Wishing all of you love and joy this season!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas....

Wishing you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year, Festive Winter Solstice and a safe and Happy Holiday however you may celebrate.

We created these pieces specifically with you in mind. this is how we wanted to send you a personalized card from each of us designed with you in mind.

We open this up as the "Celebrations around the world" Dare! Bring celebrations and culture that mean something to you an link it up here to Win.

This is our first around the world Design Team Set! so Welcome our completed Group and make sure you extended a special note to Claudia and Shilpa who round out our Team.

Claudia is wishing all of  you a Merry Christmas with a fantastic Steam Punk Style card. I love the masculine accents and industrial look to this piece.

Shilpa and I talked about what her cultural celebration is and found out that popular celebration  that happens for the Hindu culture is Diwali, 'The Festival of Lights' and it was held November. I love how she brought her cultural celebration of light with the candles and thoughtfully combined it with my Christian beliefs of Christmas. What a beautiful and creative piece for celebration.

Katelyn sends her "Season's Greetings" with this fabulous use of matte style layering and ink. You can never layer enough.

Diana sends wishes on this detailed Festive canvas. check out the amount of pine cones and greenery dies used here. So much detail and patience to be appreciated.

Julia creates a wonderful memory box display and leaves now detail off these boxes. I love the charms decorating the tree and the vintage photo with Santa

Cathy hopes we all "Believe" in a little magic with this wintry selection of colour, charms, embossing powders and stamps. I just love it!

Karon adds so much dimension to this box book. I keep studying the wreath, its gorgeous! And Wait until you see what surprise she has inside!

Remembering Family

I'm dedicating a second post to My Family of Heroes.

I started with the Eileen Hull Passport Book. All I can say is thank you Eileen. This die is what fully inspired the tribute piece.

Once I knew what I wanted to present I got to work collecting the photos from our family history.

Next I sketched up Grandpas face and got it to a size I thought would work to fit his navy picture into the eye.

then I started covering pages, inking the spine and covering more pages.

There was a hiccup when one of the insert pages broke, but I wasnt starting over so a quick mend and I was back at it.

Then I arranged the photos and cut, tore, crumpled, watered and inked them

Then off to figure out a mirage of embellishments and stick it all together.

And when we were done this was the result...

REMEMBERED . LOVED . HONOURED

Don't forget to enter your Tribute pieces, whatever they may be on the Remember the Fallen Dare.
